You are kidding right?

I have been going to Costa Rica in the summer for the last twelve years and have the time of my life every time I go there and will be going there the latter part of June again!

In addition to all of the good things that the other posters say about it you have to remember that in San Jose (its capital) they do have the largest Jade Museum of Pre Columbian Jade in the World - as well as their world famous Opera house, and their Gold Museum, and the Costa Rica National Museum, which are Must Sees when one visits Costa Rica! - Not to mention tons of Art Galleries -and the night life is fabulous all over the country.

Their huge Nature park on the West Coast of the country near Quepos called Manuel Antonio Park/Beach is World famous and on the north end of the beach they have a very quaint little restaurant setting on a little hill over looking the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific which has excellent food, drinks, service - all at very inexpensive prices and its a wonderful way to end a day at the beach!

Quepos is a small fishing village of about 4,000 souls with all of the tourist amenities anyone would possibly want. Quepos is 55 miles south of San Jose and you can reach it in 29 minutes by air with Sansa Air - round trip only costs $98.00!

Things are about one third cheaper in Costa Rica and a single person can live like a King for only about $600.00 a month!

Good Luck!

And have a real good trip!

VIVA LA PURA VIDA!

Costa Rica, is one of the most beautiful places on earth, from the mountains that surround in the central part of the country to the pacific coast to the volcanos. Costa Rica, is wonderful and safe but like every country there are some hazzards just as you would find at home. It is affordable esp. during the summer months bc it is the rainy season there but the prices are well wroth a little rain. I suggest visiting Jaco and Puntarenas along the pacific coast, they are great surfing towns. La Paz Waterfall Gardens I swear must be to Garden of Eden, there beauty is unmatched. Poas, on a clear, day is an amazing volcano. I could go on and on. Either way it was the best time of my life and I highly suggest going. The people are nice and the food is great too!

Definately Costa Rica. Its gorgeous. There are so many exciting things to do . If your an adventurous person lik e me, you will enjoy zip lining over the forrest, and white water rafting.. There so much culture and excitement. You can visit rain forrests, buy the best coffee in the world, go to water fals swim in the water from the falls, see volcanoes errupting, the beautiful scenery, great shopping, beautiful beaches, tons of wild life. This is for sure the BEST place to go! PURA VIDA!!!(costa rican saying)

CR is definitely a great place to vacation. Try Guanacaste, the northern coast... or if you're into a more mellow vibe... you should try the carribean side, Puerto Viejo... these two opposite coasts are as opposite as they get.

Costa Rica is beautiful nature paradise, consider seriously: Arenal Volcano, Tamarindo Beach in Guanacaste, Braulio Carrillo Park.

San Jose got some interesting museums but be careful cause the city is a dangerous place for tourists, always check your stuff, dont carry lot amounts of money, exchange money just in the hotel or banks, try to never walk alone.

My two cents: focus your visit outside San Jose and always be careful

It all depends on what your looking to do.... Costa Rica is awesome if you're looking for nature and adventure.... it's an outdoorsman's paradise.... hence the saying PURA VIDA!!! ;)

If you're looking for something a bit more cultural.. i.e. colonial cities, ruins, Andean culture, etc you may want to try Ecuador or Peru.... Colombia is a good bet as well.... I've traveled extensively through Ecuador and Colombia so if you want more info just drop me an email via my profile.

Good luck and have fun, all Latin America is beautiful.

John.

Costa Rica can be very nice especially if you like nature. Guanacaste is very nice but again when i went weparticipated in a lot of naturistic themes like horseback riding and camping in the rainforest (awesome experience)
They also have a nice nightlife (they really know how to party)
So it just depend on what kind of things you would like to do on vacation.
I would recommend Fiji islands,Tahiti, New Zealand, Ireland or Greece my favorite.
Good Luck
