Which hostel should I stay in Lima and Cuzco?

I can tell you one NOT to stay in....I don't remember the name, it may have been "Hotel Hawaii", it's bright green. That is the worst place I've ever stayed in my life, I itched from the time I got there until I checked out early because I couldn't take it anymore! They also have caged parrots outside on the first level. One that I can recommend is Los Momentos, that was bareable. They both are in Lima.

Haha. $50 and $20 a night? I don't know what kind of hostels you are staying in, but you can get much cheaper.

If you stay in the Flying Dog Hostel (In both Lima and Peru) in the "dorm" type room, it's $10, which also includes a locker to lock your stuff in. Just make sure to make a reservation online or over email.

plenty of hotels, in cusco try to get one close to downtown, it is so cool, in lima, you should go to miraflores district, is safer and nicer than the rest of the city. The choice will depend on your budget, in Lima around 50 to 100 dollars night, in cusco can be as low as 20 and as high as 300 per night.
