The 3 are great countries. As anywhere in the world, each one has good and bad things.

The nicer people is the one from Guatemala.
Beaches in Argentina are extremely beautiful but the wheatear tends to be cold. In the other hand, beaches in Guatemala and Mexico are hot and with a Latino environment.

If you want a nice but expensive to stay and crowed beach, go to Mexico; But if you want a nice, empty and paradisiacal beach then go to Guatemala.

Buenos Aires city is really dangerous, beautiful but dangerous. The good thing of Argentina is that you can switch and look for a snowy place instead than of a beach!

All are very good countries and are big, with the exception of Guatemala, and all have many places to visit. In my opinion i have met nicer people in Argentina, the nicer beaches i have gone to were in Argentina, but all countries posses many places to visit.

Argentina would be my 1st choice. Argentina has a very European-ish feel to it, it is a very beautiful country full of many places to visit. However, if you are only going for a week, it might be hard to see as many things as you would in a smaller country. I personally love Buenos Aires, the city is absolutely breathtaking.

Mexico and Guatemala wouldn't place in my top 10. However, both countries have a long history and both posses Mayan ruins (although i prefer the ones in Honduras). Aside from Mayan ruins there is much to do in both. In Mexico, there are very nice beaches and considering the length of the country, there are more than there are in Guatemala. White-water rafting, volcano climbing and other active activities are also available in both.

I vote for Mexico. Best beaches, best food, nice people. The down side is getting sick (don't drink the water).
Argentina is beautiful and people are very nice, but it is more expensive and the beach season is shorter.
I've been to both countries and never had problems with crime or violence or anything, but I would say that you should be careful wherever you travel.
I wish I could give you feedback on Guatemala- I would love to visit there.
