I also think this question is not very specific. As wendy said, Hotel Quito has some nice features like the casino http://www.hotelquito.com/ourservices.asp?id=10 and a very nice restaurant http://www.hotelquito.com/restaurant.asp

The pool area is spectacular http://www.hotelquito.com/club1.asp and there is a very nice new cigar shop, a leather shop and a souvenir shop. The price is also good so its a very nice option. I've been there a few times.

Another good option, also with good rates, is hotel akros. If you are traveling for business this should work. I also like Hotel Plaza Grande, its an incredible hotel but pricy.

Hope this works for you.

I love Hotel Quito,
I went there for Quitos Foundation Hollidays and I had the best time ever.
I totally recommend the shows if you want to have a good time. Specially in December when the ambiance turns a little wild in the city.

Your question is pretty open ended; everybody will have different metrics about what defines 'the best'. Some might base it on what hotel offers the best value; others might desire the best service. Ultimately- like so many things in life- you get what you pay for.

For the sake of discussion though, I'll assume your looking for the highest class hotels in Quito.

Without a doubt, the Hilton Colon is one of the nicest and most classy hotels in Quito. It's also one of the biggest. The Hilton is popular with both executives and foreign dignitaries alike. The Swiss Hotel also offers first class treatment.

For a slightly more economical price, Both the Sheraton Quito and the Best Western Hotel and Casino offer ample accommodations and excellent service. The Sheraton is very popular with travelers, and the Best Western offers large suites at standard room prices in addition to their casino, popular with visitors and residents alike.

Besides those, the Hotel Mucure is extremely comfortable and has their own casino, which is just as classy as the hotel itself.

Lest we not forget, there is also the Hotel Reina Isabel. Large suites with jacuzzis and conveniently located in near the center makes it an excellent alternative to the hotels farther to the north.

However, there are dozens of more hotels that shouldn't be discounted. In addition, hostels are a very popular option for individuals looking for a unique and more personal experience.

I agree that the question needs to be a bit more specific. But in my opinion I love Hotel Quito specially for bussiness trips or for seminars because it's near the city's commercial area and has all the necessary services to have a pleasant stay.
Besides that I can't miss out on mentioning the food! It is soooooo good. I just love it. :-)

I agree with Wendy, the Quito hotel is elegant, beautiful, has a lot of fun and not very expensive. It is also located near where you have left almost all the attractions of Quito.
