Which of these South American countries would you think I would most enjoy traveling to?

I have the oppirtunity to live with a family in a different country this summer, and I've been able to narrow the choices down to Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, and Paraguay. I live in Massachusetts, and I would like to see what it's like to live in a completely different environment and culture. Which of these countries would you recomend, based on how disimilar their culture and standard of living is to mine?

ARGENTINA DEFINETLY !!! The food is awesom as well as its culture. The views and structure is simply beautiful. Argentina is the "USA" of latin america. I live in Bolivia and this country sucks a**.

the most disimilar are ecuador and paraguay

Probably Ecuador if you want somewhere that is a world away from what you're used to.

I loved Argentina but most of the country probably doesn't offer the type of environment you're looking for. Buenos Aires especially, has a very cosmopolitan feel.

Chile is also a very westernised country....

If u want sumthing different go to ecuador, its a totally diferent culture there whereas the other countries you mentioned are getting pretty western. Haha, i Live in Bolivia too, and I totally agree with the other person who lives in Bolivia's assesment of it. It does suck haha.

My wife was an English teacher in Ecuador and travels there every year with our children for a month. Out of all the countries you can go to in South America, we think that Ecuadore offers the most. You have the Andes Mountains, The equator, the Rain forest, the Galapagos islands. No where else in the WORLD can you see where Darwin's theory of evolution was based from.

my family are from Argentina and i love to visit it because i am living in England and i find it so different there, it is so much more colourful and lively. Buenos Aires is great and if you love food it is perfect. i also love going south to Patagonia and my uncle's estancia where you can ride across the pampas grass for miles.

But i have been to Brazil and that is definitely like a different world!

Since you want a cultural experience different from what you have in Mass (I'm originally from Rhode Island!) I would recommend Northern Chile. If possible, spend the summer in the desert. It is not like anything you've ever seen or experienced before! I was there for only 1 week and didn't want to leave! There is no public transportation, movie theatre or mall. It is all natural wonders, hiking, and getting to know great people!

I agree with Rami ...definitely Argentina. You will enjoy it a lot.
Nonetheless you should visit all four countries, but better visit Uruguay and skip Ecuador for another time as it is out of the way. Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay are just next to each other. Each has its own charm and beauty, lots of History. Beautiful women and gorgeous men. Enjoy.
