You have to say first what you consider as being famous. The most famous modern politicians are Pinochet and Allende (right wing and left wing respectively) Fujimori (as another person answered) is NOT chilean, he was the Peruvian president for 11 years and is now living in Chile (he's half japanese, half peruvian).
In Sports: Ivan Zamorano and Marcelo Salas in football, Nicolas Massu and Fernando Gonzales in Tennis.
Saints: Sta Teresita de los Andes, St Alberto Hurtado.
And of course, Michelle Bachelet is the first female president in all South America so she could be considered as famous.
It all depends on the area you are looking for, there are many famous ones, for me the most famous ones are Gabriela Mistral (Nobel Loterature Prize) and Pable Neruda. |
