Ok so whenever someone asks a question about Costa Rica, some random guy named Hernan (what kind of name is that anyway) puts them and the country down. Has anyone else noticed that? Well its rude and wrong and he shouldnt do it. Osea el mae tiene que ser tonto.

I find Hernan mildly amusing sometimes. Keep in mind he is probably some shabby salesman involved in tourism and trying to make a living. And it is easy to discount him, it is obviously a put on. Hernan, by the way isa common first or second name in SPanish, and has other forms, Hernando, for example. And Hernandez as a family name.
I think JoRdY Guatamala's answer here as bad or worse than anything Hernan said. People in Centralamerica are by no means all the same and it is a good thing they aren't. Central america is a political / geographical term and does little or nothing to show the huge range of variety in the area and its peoples. JOrdy's mindless platitude really annoys me, worse she is likely to be sincere. Hernan obviously is not.
If you don't like his answers, tag him. Don't even bother to read what he says, just ID the answer and tag it. But there is no reason to discourage him, unless you want to send him so prozac or something. |

When you see posts like Hernens or others, that are rude, obnoxious, and just plain mean, I don't think they are amusing, but sad!
We have all heard the saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything!"
Bad thing about posts like this, is does nothing to help and/or encourage the point, if fact the reverse. If someone landed on Yahoo Answers, and knew little about Central America, and were trying to learn more, it would be a major turn off, thinking, "Are all Nicaraguans like Hernen?" If so, why would I want to even click on the link that is being represented? … very poor PR, to say the least.
Being nice, respectable and having courtesy, and mix that with common sense, will do wonders to the “Pura Vida” :-) as 99.9% of the people that post here try and do. |
