Why Costa Ricans are so polite?

Its the country in Central American witha relatively high standard of living. They have also well preserved their wildlife and natural resources. Also, they don't have a military where all their tax money goes to... You'd be happy too, if you lived in Costa Rica. What's not to be nice about? They don't say "Pura Vida" for nothing. These people know what's important. And that's enjoying yourself. Plus they still honor the tradition of siesta. What more can I say?

thunder2sys
because you are a tourist and they want your money!

Because we have the highest percentage on literacy, instead of spending our resources on military, we try to educate our children. We have high moral values and traditions. Although that's something we've been losing over the last years. It's very sad to accept that costaricans are more polite with tourists than with our own people.

It is not that Costa Ricans are so polite. It is probably where you come from that people are arrogant

yeah I live in Costa Rica since I was eight...now I'm 16
I consider myself more costarican than my other nationalities, and I know the difference between the people here and in other countries, we are nice but we don't even notice it. Come visit us sometime..
