BEcause of the wonderful tropical climate and very economical prices. Costa rica is a tropical paradise with warm climate, rainforests, volcanoes, mountains and great beaches. Also it is a safe and stable country unlike other counties in central america where there are always mini civil wars. |

Costa Rica and Panama are the safest countries in Central America.The cost of living is way cheaper than in the USA,so a retiree's Social Security check will actually last and the medications are affordable also.Many people have their checks direct deposited in banks in the USA and use their ATM and/or debit cards to withdraw money as they need it.The government ususally charges a penalty if they have to send their checks to another country. |
