Mainly I believe it´s the kick back attitude in general and the friendly people, most people like foreigners and will help out anyone if they can.
People also value enjoying life over working like an animal and sacrificing everything in life for a dollar, this has it´s drawbacks sometimes because things are slower to get done and the pace in general is a lot slower.
Peoples priorities are different because they prefer having fun and taking it easy over working like a dog and not enjoying life.
Work to live not live to work seems to be the motto.
