Why isn't Fanta Kolita sold in the US?

Before I leave CR I'm going to buy a bunch of bottles to take home. They don't sell it where I live, Only stupid orange and grape.

There are many franchised carbonated beverages that don't see any market in the U.S. Kolita is one of them. My favorite is a pineapple pop that can't be found Stateside. Fresh tortillas right off the comal are also missed. Time to travel back!!

I'm not sure.......The orange and grape taste different in the states...... It's better here for some reason..........In Nicaragua they have a red Fanta, but it's not Kolita......Like you, I really love it!!!!! I think there'd be a market for it in the states.....

When I was pregnant that's all I drank, Fanta Colita. Of course that may be the reason for my 35 pounds weight gain...But then again it was worth it, it's so yummy...!

Fanta is a flagship product of Coca-Cola (now with over 60 flavors) does numerous test markets all over the U.S. and the World. The results of those tests, determines if there is a market for a particular taste. In San Diego for example, Fanta’s market is the strawberry and orange. In LA, you find more of a variety like grape and grapefruit, along with orange and strawberry. And in some remote areas of Colorado and Montana no one has heard of Fanta.

Until your town or city demands the flavor ( Kolita) I would not expect it to be at the local stores soon, due to the high cost of marketing it or ROI (Return on Investment).

Also in the U.S (and under some Federal regulations and cheaper) soda is made with corn syrup (more available) while in Latin countries, made with brown sugar or sugar cane (more available) and that is why soda (particular coke) from across the borders, has a more syrup /thicker/sweeter taste.

You can order Fanta Colita from numerous Costa Rica online stores at a reasonable price. Below is a link to some of the online stores:
