Why no Italian Mafia in Brazil and Argentina?

You always here about the Italian Mafia in Anglo Saxon countries- US, Canada and Oz. Howeverm you never hear of Italian Mafia in Argentina and Brazil - two countries with enormous Italian populations. Why?

Clo is back from Florida !
Because no one is more corrupt than their own government and the Italian Mafia, might not be so "known" of as the Russian and Jewish Mafia.

Espirito do vento
It happens because the majority of Italians who come to Brazil were farmers like the Italian part of my family. They came here a long time ago in the end of 19 century and beginning of 20 century.I think the same happened to Argentina. The Italian immigration to USA is more recent.

fontedario
In anglo-saxon country Italian are segregated or semi-segregated so they are always associated to mafia in order to justify it... In Brazil and Argentina it didn't happen

JC
because those are some of the countries where they retire, once they are done with their Cosa Nostra days

Baron Von Svele
Who says there is no mafia?
