SUE

Why would a Peruvian man refer to another Peruvian man as his "marido"?

I understand it means "husband" in Spanish--but could this be used as slang? The situation is a group of 3 male buddies who refer to each in email as "tu marido."
Thanks for your help!!

Husband is married person, doesn't have that of slang, He is gay, or it might have been used to constrain the other as joke insinuating that he is gay.

"Tu marido" could be a joke between those twoo men that they're probably gay or that they're both always together and one gives money to the other when needed.

sanbartolito
There are two senses in this situation:
1) the people in the email are gay, or
2) in Peru, people tend to laugh and make strong jokes at each other, it is kind of rude and disrespectful but that is the culture. People usually make fun of each other, sometimes in this black kind of humor.
So, pretty much you'll have to figure out which one works best in your case. Good Luck! :)

Noooooo jajaja

Here in Peru, when a mand say to another man "él es tu marido" is because they are:
1) best best best friends
2) or a man stay a lot of time with another man
