Will I be carded(for alcohol) in Belize, Honduras, the Bahamas or Mexico?

Just curious, those are the ports of call on a cruise I'm going to be on. Its South America so I doubt it'll be a problem buying a drink but I didn't know if anyone had any first hand experience?

Honduras' drinking/buying age is 21. If your port of call in Honduras is Roatan you are very likely to be asked for ID. All of the discos, clubs etc. in the tourist areas ask for ID at the door. The legal age for the other countries you mention is 18 but I am not sure how well it is enforced.

In Honduras, there is no drinking age. In Belize, the Bahamas and Mexico the drinking age is 18. If you look (or are) younger than 18, you may be carded but it is not common practice. A lot depends on exactly where you are. For instance, tourist areas that attract a lot of high school and college kids will card, especially during high tourist season. Areas like Cancun, Nassau, Freeport and Cozumel keep tighter watch on things because of the press they draw. Since you are going to be stopping in ports from a cruise ship, you will be visiting high tourist areas. Be aware that lots of things change when the cruise ships are in town. Every thing from local rules to prices are different to take advantage of the tourist dollar.

I have traveled with my children in Central America and Mexico - which technically is where you are asking about not South America. At the time of my travels, I had children ranging in age from 7-15. The 15 year old tried to order a beer in Mexico and was laughed at but not carded and not served.

Forever Yours.

People down there, really don't enforce that law, so no.
