HEY!!!!!! in every country there are thiefs...you know!!?? here in Peru is the same as anyother country...you dont just show off you stuff! do take care!. Turist here trust anyone that comes along.....you cant trust in everyone!

There is no problem getting it through customs. I bring my laptop when I go and I go about once a year on business. Theft can be an issue if you don't use common sense.

Do watch out for common theives, but I don't think you will have any problems at customs. Peru is pretty civilized, las time I checked :).
