try the 'swanky' hotels that are situated in LA ZONA ROSA which if im not mistaken its the hot spot to go at day and night.

They could use somebody who speaks both english and spanish.

Just the fact that you speak english is a big advantage (believe me).

Try applying as a liason with any of the US companies doing bussiness there. They often need US workers that are willing to relocate. Keep in mind that most of their bussinesses are located in industrial areas, not the tourist or even urban areas.

Yes, you can find a job out there, but your right it is a little diffucult.
I was just there 3 months ago, and reading the newspaper,
and there are lots of jobs avialable,
try hotels, lots of department stores at the malls, insurance companies, hospitals, if you have customer service skills you'll do just fine.
wish the best of luck to you and your husband.

if you are a native english speaking person you have a big opportunity to get a job in many of the english language academies in El Salvador.

The simple answer is no you can't work legally while you are there on a tourist visa.
You may want to contact the embassy of El Salvador. And see about a work visa... But probably aren't many available for non skilled labor.
There are several call centers in San Salvador that hire english speakers, Dell, U.S. air.but you won't get hired on a tourist visa.
You don't have many options for employment.
A little free advice from a cranky old man, stay the hell home in the U.S. you are in way over your head and you have a kid to worry about. Let Mr. wonderful go back andf sort out his problems..You can make way better money in the states.
