I have lived in Maryland USA all my life but i have traveled most of south east asia and all of north and south america. my finacee wants me to move to Peru to have a baby and to start a family there. I do not speak Spanish and i can not find a job there. (she has a very good job, i would not have to work) besides the fact of me going bord out of my mind my question is what can i do while i am there (besides learning spanish) until we have a baby. I have a degree but still can not find work close to where we will live. |

learn guitar, write a book about your life. it sounds interesting enough, you have a degree, you have a well paid peruvian wife, you've been allover the world.... if all that fails, find yourself a hot latin mistress |

MMmmm ! Not sure if to say "congrats" or "good luck". I know people that voluteer once a year providing school supplies to schools close to the mtns. Lima is developed. Not sure where to start. 1srt ...I would do some research on place(town) you're moving to. Must be a good job (gov't or prvt company) is cool. You have to decide ...if you're going to work or stay home. Not sure if you have travelled as just a tourist. But it's a courtesy to learn the language and customs of the place you're visiting. Learning Spanish is the start (some mtn population still speak Quechua -Incan language (46 dialects). Be aware: that fighting and unrest still break out in some of the mtn regions - not all of them. Not all the country is develop, some rural areas still need roads build, especially in the mts. If you don't like to travel just stay close to the US/foreign community - there is one in most cities and they have activities for you & baby. |

yes, you should move. It is an amazing experience and you will find something down there. You can teach english (get certified) or do freelance work in your career - the internet is everywhere!
And, worse comes to worse, you can always come back |

that wouldnt be a bad idea, plus you dont need that much to survive there. in that case the best you can do is learn spanish over, become fluent, and if you have some mon ey try to open a business or something, or invest on real estate.
the best thing you ca do is teach the baby english, and the baby can teach you spanish! he/she could be fluent in both languages right away! |

You're going to sit on your...chair while she, being pregnant, goes to work and supports your tired...sitter.
I wouldn't take you with me to Peru and I sure wouldn't want you to father my child.
How in the name of heaven could you be "bord" (which is not a word by the way) in a foreign country??
How do you know you cannot find work close to where you will be living? I'm sure there are many jobs available. They might not be what you want but if you are any kind of man, you will work there anyway to help support your family. |
