Peru's lovers will say Peru and Costa Rica's lovers will say Costa Rica. And none of them will know much about the other (like our attorney)....;-)
Check it by yourself: http://www.world-tourism.org/facts/wtb.html
The 2008 statistics are not free so lets get happy with this.
BTW, you should think about what kind of tourism are u looking for (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism).
Aboriginal tourism (also Tribal tourism and Native American tourism)
Adventure tourism (or Adventure travel usually outdoors)
Alternative tourism
Backpack tourism (or Youth Backpack tourism, see Backpacking (travel))
Battlefield tourism
Border tourism (or Cross-Border Tourism)
Convention (meeting)
Celebrity tourism (including Celebrity Cruises)
Community Based tourism (or Community Supported tourism)
Cruise tourism (see Cruise ship)
etc, etc, etc....
Check the Wikipedia web site and then google you choice for Peru and Costa Rica (that is what i would do).
Hope it helps. |

I´ve been to both countries and live in Costa Rica, Peru has a couple nce places, mainly Machu Pichu, the ancient Inca city, other than that there is not much except a lot of desert sand.
Costa Rica on the other hand has many many things to do and places to see, Hot water springs, beaches, fishing, surfing, swimming, volcanos, snorkeling, city tours, music, theatre, rain forest, cloud forest.
Costa Rica also offers one of the best climates in the world, friendly people, modern facilities and a kick back party attirude.
