i am mexican, and my advice knowing some of the culture would be to make him feel you arent worth for him to kill you, if he ever have the chance(you never know)... by that i mean do not act arrogant, showing you have him a little "respect," find the way to grow his ego. if you insulted him try to show you regret what you did. things you shouldnt do. show that you are better. show you have no fear. dare him. raise the voice to him by the phone. explain what you acted the way you acted and that you left him because of this kind of actutues. maybe try to get in touch with a relative or friend you both have in commun and that you trust because he might want to get in touch with him , and explain the situation, he might be able to calm him down.
