you can buy prepaid cards in mexico, the best brand is SIMI, and trust me they are not that expensive. Just go into a drug store, or farmacia, and ask for tarjetas prepagadadas de telefono para hablar a estados unidos, which means prepaid phone cards to talk to the US. well I hope it helps, have fun in mexico! |

I use Yahoo messenger and purchase minutes. It's cheap. Quality is good and I can use my cam with it. Or us Skype. I don't care much for that one. I hear Sprint now has a great plan to use in Mexico and its affordable. Last resort, purchase a phone card in Mexico! |

Dont forget about voice over IP. VERY cheap. Internet is everywhere and charge by the hour ,8-10 pesos. |

well, i use sprint as my provider... they have a plan for 5 bucks extra a month for digital roaming in mexico. ive used it in mexico city, zacatecas, monterrey, saltillo, zihua, cancun, chetumal, villahermosa... its a little pricey once you use it, a minute...but i keep the calls short and to the point. you can use the internet once you get to where youre going...i travel with my laptop and i use vonage. |

This would be very expensive unless you use Skype through a PC which would be worth it if you are gone for an extended period but not on a 1 week vacation.
