They are older properties, no complaints, but why don't you try a newer resort....... Dreams Cancun, or the Playacar Palace, El Dorado etc. Depending if you want to go the to Mayan, or even the RIU resorts are better then those. http://www.riu.com, you can see recent trip reviews on http://www.tripadvisor.com

Go south of Cancun to the Riviera Maya and stay at a Palace Resort. They treat you so much better then most of the resorts. It's so worth it. Less crowds, great food and drink, and free tours. www.palaceresorts.com
The only resorts we stay with in Mexico and we go 2x a year.

Haven't been to any of those three, but my wife and I went to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo just south of Cancun for our honeymoon and LOVED it! When they say all-inclusive, they really meant it -- the only things that they would have charged for were top-shelf booze or champagne, and my wife and I didn't bother with that (we were fine with margaritas at the swim-up bar at the pool). With the exception of their Italian restaurant the food was great and the service was great no matter what we were doing at the resort. It also had one of those beautiful white sand beaches to lay out on (and for people like my wife who go straight to burn they have thatched grass umbrellas that don't let any sun in). We would go back in a heartbeat.

One word of warning: Whichever all-inclusive resort you go to, be sure you take a dress or a skirt or slacks and at least one shirt with a collar. Most all-inclusive resorts have a dress code for dinner, which is a shirt with a collar (polo shirts are OK), slacks -- no jeans -- for men and women or skirt for women, and shoes -- no flip-flops or sandals. Of course, a dress is OK for women, but the drill is to get away from the T-shirt and bermuda shorts for dinner.

I agree with the last answer. Cancun is a joke. Go to Playa Del Carmen. More laid back and you can take a ferry to Cozamel anytime you want.

Go to Sun Palace Cancun. The hurricane destroyed the old resort and they rebuilt. It's all new and getting great reviews. Go to this site for prices. They are having a sale) Have fun

Riu is awesome, there are two right next to each other in Cancun and if you stay at the Riu Las Americas, you can also use any of the amenities at the Riu Cancun. It's like getting two great hotels for the price of one!!! Loved it and would go back anytime.

Don't stay in Cancun!
Go to playa del carmen or Cozumel.
I liked them much better than Cancun... Cancun is WAY to touristy!
