All inclusive recommendations...two couples between 40 and 48 years old.? |
We are planning on going to Cancun in either the last week of February or the first week of March 2009. We don't want to be there for Spring break and would prefer to be with mostly adults our age, but that is flexible. We are leaving the kids at home so we prefer not being somewhere that is oriented for families with children.
Neither couple has ever been to an all -inclusive resort and we are going on recommendations and websites.
Please....I have researched this to death on the internet so don't give me any more websites.
We are leaning towards the Sun Palace or Moon Palace. Additional Details We want recommendations for the best all inclusive, taken from personal experience, not from a friend of a friend of a friend. |

We were considering the Palace resorts and the Riu resorts and ended up settling on the Riu resort. We stayed at the Riu Cancun for one week with 2 other couples. We are younger, and there was generally a younger crowd, but there were many people of all ages there. While there were families, they didn't necessarily cater to families aside from having a children's program. We didn't see a lot of kids or teenagers really at all.
We chose the Riu because we wanted to be right in Cancun, while the Palace resorts are a bit farther out, and because it was less expensive.
But we had a great time and would definitely go back. The food choices were great - a big breakfast buffet, 2 lunch buffets (one large and inside, one small and outside), and 4 dinner options (Japanese, Mediterranean, outdoor patio steakhouse, buffet with a different theme every night). We all ate very well. The drinks were good too.
The staff were very helpful and kind as well. The rooms were okay - nothing special, but nothing to complain about. There is a mini-fridge, the contents of which are included in your room rate, as well as a liquor dispenser that is included. There were shows every night, and also people selling their goods a few nights by the pool. They had a big Mexican fiesta one night and that was really fun to watch.
Anyway, we had a blast there. I can't talk of any other place though. |

I recommend Moon Palace. You will have a great time. They have the best pool. Good Food, nice staff, great drinks, beer, water, liquor in your room, jacuzzi in all the rooms. We had alot of fun at Moon Palace. What I love about the Palace Resorts, you can stay at one but visit all the others.
The only con is the beach water has seaweed in it. The beach itself is very nice and the staff is constantly cleaning up the seaweed. That was our only issue. And we knew about it before we went. Once there, it was a non-issue.
Tip: Bring one dollar bills for tips, the service gets even better.
You will love the resort, it's very nice.
Enjoy) |

The Sun Palace is VERY nice, it is for adult couples only and their All Inclusive gives you free tours and day stays at the other 7 Palace Resorts at the Mayan Riviera, I would definetely recommend you this one before any other adults only resort. IT IS right on Cancun.
Other places you might like are the GR Solaris Cancun www.clubsolarisresorts.com, the Royal Sunset www.sunsethotels.net, or the Hacienda VIsta Real in Playa del Carmen www.hvr.com.mx but if I were you I would go to the Sun Palace, or any Palace, check also the Aventura Spa Palace down in the mayan riviera www.palaceresorts.com |

Friends of ours go to Moon Palace every year and love it. I think Moon Palace is in Riviera Maya,if that makes a difference. |

I'm sorry, are you asking where to go or if you should do all inclusive? |

Cross the border illegally, walk across a desert sharing one canteen of water, eat raw lizard - -anything you can scrounge -- make a sweat lodge and eat peyote buttons, sell your shoes in the nearest town.
The Moon Palace sounds nice, too. |
