Anyone experience rain while on vacation in cancun?

Im visiting cancun in the next 2 weeks, there might be scattered showers, will that cancel tours? 1st time going in september, i've visited in june and the weather was fine. Will light showers cancel tours and close other attractions?

Usually the rain in Cancun area is intense, but short. I've been in Cancun 34 times and only 2-3 times the rain was longer, then 4 hours. Most often the rain starts around 11:30am and in most cases will be over in 40min. tops. During this time you can go to the wet bar to have a few drinks, or have a short lunch. By the time you come back to the pool or beach, the rain will be over and you will be enjoying sun again to the rest of the day. Similar weather can be found almost everywhere in the Caribbean.
Take care and enjoy the sun!

Hola. Yes I have. It can be pouring rain in one spot, and nothing a few miles away. Because of that, Tours will continue to operate as normal, with the possible exception of water activities if the waves get rambunctious. Saludos, Tim

I'm in agreement with the previous two, the only thing that may be disrupted would be something like a snorkeling tour, if the water was too rough or visibility too bad but even then the tour operators will gladly take you the next day, they won't want to lose the sale.

Some things will close.

The bars will still be open :)

However some of the forest tours will close as will some of the temple tours. BUT I know that there are a few that will stay open.

You won't be allowed to snorkel or scuba dive if the rain also brings choppy water.

sometimes it will just rain for like 5 minutes in the middle of the day and no one will care. but when it rains it really rains. i dont know if they close stuff because i spent most of my time in clubs and the weather was nice when i did do other things but i think it would have to be pretty bad to stop things. rain is not too big a deal there.

NO RAIN!!!! There was no rain what so ever I went from the 9/1/06- 9/5/06 and the forcast said thunderstorm and scattered showers... I will never listen to them again because it was BEAUTIFUL SKYS the whole 5 days we were there. & I was terrified because of the hurricane in Alcapulco.
