*OAXACA IS THE ONLY STATE THAT HAS BLACK POTTERY (IT ORIGINATED THERE) AND IF YOU SEE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE IN MEXICO... IT WAS EXPORTED FROM OAXACA... they have the secret... to making black pottery... its beautiful.. try san bartolo coyotepec.

GREAT FOOD IN OAXACA ALSO....

When you go to mexico...i think u should go to these places:

Guadalajara
Durango
Cuernavaca

These are true Mexican cities, because Cancun, Los Cabos, and Puerta Vallarta are a bunch of Americans in those places....u wont see the real mexicans there

Mexico is awesome! You'll have a great time! Mexico City is amazing. Guanajuato has tons of history, well, actually, all of Mexico does. If you go to the state of colima, go to the capital. it's gorgeous. Have a great time. You'll love it. Mexico is a beautiful country. If you want to get the true Mexican experience though, don't go to Cancun, Mazatlan, Cabo, or any of the big tourist attractions because for that, you can just go to palm beach or something like that here.

I think Guanajuato is a beautiful colonial city worth getting to see. It also has a lot of historical places to see, since part of the indepence movement originated there or nearby.

Another interesting place to see is Real de Catorce in the state of San Luis Potosi. ITs this semi abandoned town that was booming in the late 1800's early 1900's due to the mines in the area. When the price of silver or gold (cant remember which) went down, most of the people left the town. The town is in between mountains. Way back when, indians lived in the area, and the area is somewhat famous for peyote which is a hallucinogenic that grows in the area and the indians used in their rituals. Nowadays, the town is half locals and half foreigners, many hippie europeans selling bracelets and such. They have tours on horse to the mines or the desert. Actually, if you saw the dumb movie the Mexican with Pitt and julia roberts, if you remember the scene when pitt is driving through a tunnel?...well that tunnel is the one you have to go through in order to get into the town.

Both are great options. Have a wonderful time.

You can find volunteer work very easy. You can basicaly take the Touribus and it`ll take you to all the important touristic places in Mexico City.

mexico is amazing and fun and everyone there is nice and will never stip helping you. you will ahve a great time just relax the mexicans are so nice. nothing to worry about
