Nope... there are many reptiles nearby but that species is not native of that area of Mexico |

For your info you won't find any anacondas in the Mayan forest. You wont find Jennifer Lopez nor John Voigt there either. They are probably in Hollywood, Cal. and the snake is electronically digitalized , courtesy of mr. Gates.
However in the Mexican states of Yucatan , Quintana Roo and the Lacandon Forest of Chiapas, there lives an interesting little snake (about 25 inch) called the Cinturon Rosa (Pink belt).
Its venom is about 10 times as potent as the one from the king cobra. In general they are not found in 5 stars hotel rooms. But if you visit the rainforest by all means wear heavy boots and leg protectors. |
