Teotihuacan is,of course, the largest and "best known" archaeological site closest to Puerto Vallarta.
However, there are some smaller lesser known sites closer to P.V. within the state of Jalisco. Probably the best restored and most interesting is Guachimontones near the town of Teuchitlán.You can get more detailed information on the Guachimontones site at the tourist office on Morelos102 in Guadalajara.
Buen viaje!

No, the closer is in Teotihuacan, near to D.F., you can arrive to D.F., visit Teotihuacan and after travel to Puerto Vallarta.

Yes, we do have pyramids near Puerto Vallarta but it is not worth seeing them, they are in the process of being re-build and restored.
They are located in the area of Ixtapa, Jalisco, by the Puerto Vallarta airport.

They were built by the Aztlan groups. Home of the Aztecs in the State of Nayarit. Next to Jalisco where Puerto Vallarta is located.

Check the next sites:

Best to you.
