Yes and no, all sorts of people travel to Cancun every year, pricing is starting to soar for the better properties and some properties don't allow people under 21 to stay at the resorts, if you want to try the Mayan it's also very beautiful, but you may get out of the party scene a little bit, Cancun isn't always rocking, during Spring Break it is, then generally you get all walks of life.

Go to the Mayan Riviera. You fly into Cancun but it's about 1 hr south. The beaches are a lot quieter. and most of the hotels are newer. You can do the same activities and you are closer to the ruins and the Xel-Ha park. You can get transfers to your hotel and a lot of the hotels have shuttles to Cancun for a small fee of sometimes gratis. |

If you are planning your family vacation for any time soon, I would recommend coming to Cancun next month. During the month of August, most of the tourists are nationals...with their kids. As a result, you can generally enjoy any attraction, enter any restaurant or shop in any shop together with your kids and not have to worry about them seeing/hearing things that you might feel are objectionable. |

Me and my husband took our 4 kids to Cancun twice and it was one of the best vacations we ever had. We went for 10 days and still didn't have enough time to do everything. Cancun is great because kids can go everywhere with you and they won't feel out of place they had a blast. I would agree on going all inclusive because then you don't have to worry about any drinks or food. At the times we went our kids were 9,10,13 and 15.and we went the first 10 days of July. |

I thought it was a beautiful place. We drank, but didn't get drunk, and had a blast. It would be a fun place for a family because there are lots of things to do in the area.
Playa del Carmen, which is a bit south of Cancun, is supposed to be a great family area though. |

Cancun is definately a tourist spot for people who want to go buck wild but it also has many attractions for families. Some hotels are very family friendly. There are many great and fun things to do in mexico that don't involve Girls gone Wild video taping. I have a friend who goes there almost every year with his parents and his wife and their son. And they all love it! |
