Cabo? Mazatlan? Puerto Vallarta? Acapulco? which is the best spot?
Planning a trip. which is the best spot? I have never been to the pacific side of Mexico. Just looking for some insight.suggestions of things to do would be appreciated as well.
I prefer Vallarta with the mountains behind and the Mexican feel of old town. More tropical than up north.
Here's a great site for info

After living in Mazatlan for a while, I can advise you not to visit the sleepy burg. Don't get me wrong, I love Mazatlan, but a vacationer might be better off on the beautiful waters at Cabo (which would be my choice).
Puerto Vallarta would allow for ultra-touristy-style lounging, visits to the rainforest, but a disconnect from true Mexican culture.
Acapulco is an old-school stand-by, and if you can get in on the genuine night-life, lucky for you!
?
I love Mazatlan and go every year..Just bought a time share there.

I was in the Mexican Riviera recently. Mazatlan and Cabo were my favorites. Acapulco is full of thieves. My gold bracelet was snatched right off my wrist there. I didn't get to Puerto Vallarta.

Acapulco? Very crowded.
Mazatlán? Very boring.
Puerto Vallarta? Very nice.
Cabo? Very beautiful.
Go to Cabo, it's great!

They are all very nice, its nice to be able to chose between such nice places. If I were to recommend one, it would be Puerto Vallarta, but like I said they are all very nice.
Each site is totally unique... Cabo = exclusive and private. Mazatlan = carefree and younger crowd. Puerto Vallarta = traditional seaside town. Acapulco = overdeveloped tourist machine.
