Cabo.
Puerto Vallarta's still pretty much under reconstruction. Too many contractors, not enough margaritas. |

I've been to both
Cabo is an hour and a half ride from the airport
($50 - $60) cab fare each way. The tequila marinaded shrimp at Sammy's are great as are the Waboritas.
Puerto Vallarta is about 10 minutes from the airport, there's a Giant Walmart 5 minutes away to stock up on food and things to take to your room. Beaches are better in PV. Cabo has short steep beaches with bad undertow. But if your going golfing.... Cabo is THE destination. There are good travel sites with users comments about different resorts, just remember ... some people will complain about anything and leave negative reviews. They're both worth a trip but I prefer Puerto Vallarta, have a timeshare there. You will be approached hundreds of times in a week about timeshares. If your not interested in a timeshare just tell them thanks NO. Any other answer and you'll be talking for 10 minutes minimum. A timeshare preso is only
(90) minutes and you get free stuff in return, I guaruntee it'll waste half a day for 1 preso. Deep sea fishing is great in both, just don't go the day after a fullmoon or you'll get skunked. |

I went to Cabo and Puerta Vallarta on a cruise last Spring. I vote Cabo hands down. I think Vallarta is over rated. Cabo is small, but has nice amenities. Its clean and has better beaches from what I saw. |

I've been to both and I prefer Cabo. With the exception of Sammy Hagar's place, it's a lot less touristy than Puerto Vallarta. If you are looking for an american like city with a McDonald's, Pizza Hut, go to PV. Cabo was a lot less crowded and a lot cleaner than Puerto Vallarta.
I would say go to Cabo now before it gets over run and over crowded. |

Haven't been to Cabo, 3 times to PV though, it is beautiful there and we like to stay close to the marina for shopping and dining - definitely go downtown for shopping and eating at Pipi's (excellent food and huge margaritas), The Vista Grill (fine dining on the terrace overlooking the city, go for the sunset, the view is absolutely gorgeous, do a few tours if you can, lots to see and do. |

I choose CABO hands down it is a beautiful place with great beaches resorts bars and nightlife everything in walking distances
and the main reason to go if you like nightlife is to see the famous El Squid Roe dance bar, everyone in Cabo goes there at night and has a gr8 time !! and a gr8 place to meet people.
I recommend the mar de cortez hotel.
And you ought to see the views from Solmar Suites resort. |
