Cabo, should I move there? |
I have an opportunity to move to Cabo San Lucas, with home and income prearranged. I have lived in So. California my whole life, do you think it would be a big adjustment? Additional Details Thanks to all that gave me an answer; all were great and helpful. I will let Yahoo decide the best as I can't.
I've gotten a lot of opinions from my friends and family on this, as you would imagine; mostly all positive. I know the city of Cabo well and agree that it's a great place, but moving there is a big step, but I think a good one for me right now. Thank you for helping me decide a big life decision. See you in Cabo! |

Hola. Well I love it here (except the summers - they are too hot for me) It is very much just an extension of California....we have so many rich expat americans and a few canadians...most have 2nd homes here and fly in for weekends and holidays. We also have a high concentration of celebrities - if you live here you often see them.
But it is MEXICO!! Its another country and with that you get tons of disappointments and disasters. Things run very different down here, and usually drive the people who are used to getting things done right away - LOCO (crazy). If you can adjust to the way of life here, then you will have no problems. Everything is not time based, everything is not a hurry, everything doesn't work often.
The weather is amazing, the beaches fantastic, the hurricanes freaky.
Best thing to do is try it out....you can always go back if you don't like it!

Sounds exciting, go ahead and do it. I drove down there with a friend a few years ago. Took us 3 months cuz we did alot of rough camping along the way. It was one of the greatest trips Ive ever took. Life long memories n all that. Id jump at a chance to live there, as a matter of fact I woulda stayed then except americans have a real hard time getting employment, as a matter of fact I think it may be illegal (go figure) If you've got guaranteed work and a place to stay give it a shot. I would make sure that you have enough money in the bank to cover a one way ticket home though just in case things aren't as you planned. Mexico is no place to get stranded in. Good luck and have fun. Take chances, live exciting. |

I hear Cabo is beautiful. There are two, San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. I believe San Lucas is a small town. Both my parents were born there, however, I've never been there myself. I was born and raised in SoCal and will never go there to live. I'd be scare just to visit based on all the abductions and government corruption.
Think about it and good luck! |

Hey! I was born in CAbo and live here also, its a great place, you will almost feel as being at home coz there are plenty americans here, it's not a place 'far from civilization' as some people think.
there is also a 'mexican' side where you can meet and interact with locals and we are normally very friendly.
you should give it a shot
all the best |
