Can american electronics be used in mexico?

depending on what it is, mostly yes

xXCZRXx
yes they can be used

The voltage is the same but quite irregular in some places. Good idea to have surge suppressors for protection. Also many 2 prong ungrounded outlets so may need an adapter.

And DVD's are regional ... so Mexican movies won't play on a US machine

yes. same voltage as in US.
some people here are saying that good electricity is sporadic? i don't know where that would be! i've never had any problem with american electronics- i've used american stuff in mexico and viceversa, and never had problems.
if you're going to a resort, you definitely won't have a problem at all.

Mostly yes, if you have adapter bring it if you are traveling to unpopulated areas. Many travel with surge protector, helps with multi charging of electronics plus good if electric is sporadic.
