The only thing more difficult than taking a gun into Mexico would be to take it back to the US. You are looking at at least 5 years in jail, and Mexican jails do not have the comforts of the US jails. |

Heck no! Guns and ammo are illegal in Mexico. Before you cross the border, there is a large sign warning you of this. I am an American living in Tijuana and cross the border to San Diego everyday, so I know this is a fact. You could end up in jail for an undetermined amount of time, then you really wouldn't be safe. Let me know if you have any questions before you plan your trip, I'd be happy to give advice! |

Hell NO! You are safer without one! Lets say you had one and used it, You would rather be dead. Just don't go looking for trouble while your there. Respect their laws. Mexico is not your playground any more than you would want Mexicans to come here and use your neighborhood for one. You get my drift? Enjoy Mexico, it's a great place and has much to offer, just don't go and get stupid. It's safer to do that here.

you can only take a firearm into mexico if it will be used for hunting; it has to be a hunting rifle and has to be registered with the army, you would have to show proof that you are going on a hunting trip. Importing hand guns or non hunting rifles and shot guns is illegal.
Mexico is a safe country, you do not need a gun down there, just use common sense; dont flash money, dont act stupid, dont piss people off, avoid red ligth districts, try exploring with a friend, and do not purchase any illegal drugs. |

No as everyone has pointed out it is not legal at all, but even if you manage to sneak one down there you might be in more danger. Because if you are seen with a gun you would be seen as a threat by the people you are trying to protect yourself from. |
