Moon Palace Cancun. The resort is almost the size of a small city. Pool seemed like it was several miles long with a few swim-up bars!!! All inclusive resort made the deal for me. Two golf courses, about ten different restaurants ranging from suit and tie sit down, to buffet for the kids. Golf cart shuttles work all day and night to different areas on the resort grounds. Also, there are several different types of wildlife species on the grounds. Iguanas, boa constrictors, ant eaters, wild cats, and crocodiles. Casino, arcade, and beautiful lobby area with internet. GO HERE. |

try the gran melia hotel in cancun. the "sol melia resorts" tend to be ultra luxurius and exclusive. check out the photos on the link i provided.
no airline flies nonstop from tijuana to cancun, nor do they fly from san diego to cancun. from LAX, there is a nonstop flight. or a connection flight from tijuana or san diego. alaska airlines from LAX or mexica from tijuana.
i hope you get out and see a few interesting places in mexico besides the beach and your uber-luxury hotel! i love mexico.

When I went to Cancun, I stayed at the Gran Caribe Real all Inclusive Resort. I had a blast. The staff was very nice, you could get a room where you just stepped outside and you were on the beach. All kinds of fun activities such as biking around Cancun, Tequila Volleyball, and Waterpolo and much more. They have 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, a tennis court and a kids center. I could not say enough great things about this resort. |

Not trying to be rude, but Cancun is WAY overrated. I stayed at the GR Solaris last summer. It was really nice and all that, but Cancun is so into itself and charges you every chance they get for anything. If $$$ is not an object then by all means go. There are an infinite number of hotels to choose from but they all pretty much looked the same to me.
Go to Puerto Vallarta, spend the same amount of $$$ you would in Cancun (but at a REAL Mexican beach resort town) and you will live like a king. |
