Could someone here answer a question about Cabo San Lucas? |
Hi everyone-
I am going to Cabo over spring break with some friends. I am 16 and was wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation and knows of any bars or nightclubs in Cabo which tend to allow in underage people in or dont check ID? I have gone to bars before in other places in Mexico and not had any trouble, but I have not tried the clubs. Thanks

Yes, my parents do know that I am going, as my friends and I are going with my family. My friends and I have a different room and I was just wondering if there was anywhere we could go at night. Oh... and I'll try to stay out of the mexican jails., though I truly doubt they would book an underage drinker who is not causing any trouble. |

Hola. It's pretty rare for anyone at the clubs to ask a "spring breaker" for ID. Unless you look 12, you probably won't have any problems.
p.s I'd be more concerned about a 16 year old stumbling around Cabo in the middle of the night drunk. Be really careful. We have alot of transient people in town lately that prey on kids like you. Guy or girl. Seriously! That's what they do for a living. |

You'll probably be fine, but ending up in a mexican jail could be bad. Cabo's changed alot over the past few years and the Policia are not very lienient. There are amny more policia than even 5 years ago and a 16 year old is a target for trouble. Have a great time, just be careful. |

The law in Mexico is enforced, but for the bars, you will never go to jail.
They will check for your ID, if an inspector finds an underage inside, the bar will get a BIG fine, and they can even be closed.
I will recommend you to go along with your parents, places like Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo, also work like restaurants during the day, and you can be there till 10 PM when the restaurant closes.
Party is also fun at Medano Beach during the day, you can hang up at The Office, Mango Deck or Billygan´s.

Do your parents know you are going to Cabo to drink? You are underage, so don't get caught and end up in a police station crying.

If you are underage and drinking in Mexico, you are looking for trouble and problems. You may very well be let into bars in Mexico, however, if you become intoxicated, you may not like the results of your choices. |

Then again, I'm 22 and have only taken people 18+ to clubs, but you should be all set just about anywhere in Cabo. If you're willing to spend money, they're usually willing to let you spend it.
ALSO: if you want less of a risk, just charge everything to your room (that is if your parents aren't checking the bill - unless they don't care about drinking.
