Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen?

Which do you recommend for a nice, relaxing honeymoon?

Playa would be best, Cozumel is too commercial and touristy.Playa is more laid back

Stay in Playa and you can always take the ferry over to Cozumel for the day.
I usually stay in Cozumel, but that is because I scuba dive. Cozumel is great if you are a scuba diver. Cozumel has some great places to snorkel and some great beaches, but it is pretty boring at night. (Cozumel is an island.) Playa on the other hand is on the mainland, all of the tours you may want to check out are close to Playa as well.
Stay at an all inclusive, the food in town is not cheap it usually cost $40 to $60 per night for food at a restaurant in Playa. So, it is a better value to stay at an all-inclusive hotel.
I recommend The Royal (north end of Playa) and Playacar Palace (south end of Playa by the ferry) The nice thing about the Palace is that if you stay at one (Playacar) you can use the facilities and eat at the others (Cozumel) as well.
In Playacar, which is just south of town the Iberostars and the Riu's are nice and reasonably priced. If your looking for extravagant, there is the Royal Hideaway, high dollar but very nice in Playacar. (Check out tripadvisor.com)
Take a taxi to Xcaret (5 Miles away from Playa)and buy your tickets at gate, check out the night show but do not buy the dinner. (The show was good, the dinner was bad!) As for the rest of the tours, just buy the tour and the vans will pick you up. (You can check out some of the tours at Playatrips.com) Xel-ha/Tulum tour is great, so is the Myan Encounter to Coba. I even enjoyed the trip to Chichen-Itza. but it is a long way away from the coast.
You'll have a great time in Playa it is much more relaxing than Cancun. I highly recommend you pick a day to check out Cozumel, it is very nice and you can snorkel at the Cozumel Palace if you stay at the Playacar Palace.

Hello,

I recomend you Playa del Carmen or Riviera maya.

Playa del Carmen - that way you can ride the ferry to Cozumel. Check out Playacar Palace, they have tours included in the all-inclusive. I would suggest that you also go to Xcaret, or Xel-ha also.

I'd recommend Playa del Carmen..... it's nicer than Cozumel, small and cozy, with lots of shops and some bars, and a beautiful beach. Xcaret park is quite close, too.
