Not if you live in America. All you need is at least 2 forms of identification, ie. Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Driver's Licence, etc. |

Actually, the law is changing or may already have. You will need a passport to go to Mexico. I live in Arizona, and it is a big deal here since so many people go just across the border to get prescriptions filled at a lower cost. I would really double check to make sure you don't need a passport. |

No, but you still might want to get a passport asap because it's always good to have and besides very soon Mexico will start checking for passports. |

As of today, you don't need a passport if you're an American Citizen. But the laws are changing soon and starting next January you'll need a passport to go anywhere.
Well, I suppose you could get out, but they might not let you back in. |

you ultimately will have to have a passport by the end of 2007 to enter mexico (the end of 2006 if you enter mexico by sea or air) for the moment you can still go with proof of us citizenship and a photo id (ie state certified birth certificate and drivers license). additional details can be found at the state department's web site at travel.state.gov. |
