All right! let's quit the non sense, is it just me? or all gringos think that all the people in the world are like them... first of all you need to do some investigation to ask something like this, Historically Guatemala was part of the Mexican territory, they decided to become an independent country and Mexico was ok with that, Mexico never has taken any territory from other countries, has never invaded other countries. not even tried to make war, when your president asked Mexico to join the Irak invasion President Fox said NO WAY MR. and that was taken as an act of treason by your president, Mexico never invaded, took by force, the Guatemalan territory, and let me tell you something, I live in the Guatemalan border, in a city called Ciudad Hidalgo, and guess what... the military posted there are not to shoot or stop illegal people (we don't call them aliens), they are there to stop drug smugglers from taking drugs to your country, and to defend the mexican citizens from Central american gangsters WE DON'T SHOOT PEOPLE WHO'S TRYING TO FIND A BETTER WAY OF LIFE... so please please, don't talk if you have an army somewhere else trying to take over the world, and on the next elections vote for a human being not the Warner Bros. The Brain from Pinky and the Brain.... trying to take over the world... |

of course not. Mexico does not have the same policy than the U.S.
They never took anything from Guatemala and they do not hunt down Guatemaltecans.
The southern border is not dangerous for American (or any) tourists, it is risky for illegal immigrants because they are returned to their country, that is all. |

Mexico didn't take any land, A region of Quautemalli decided to be a Mexican state. It's a huge difference.
Mexico's south border is not as heavily guarded as Gringolandia's south border, and I haven't heard of the Mexican goverment shooting inmigrants, just as our north border neighboors do.
Theres's a lot of thieves in between Quautemalli and Mexico, but they're not the goverment, by far. |

I think a state in Mexico used to be in Guatemala, but there was no war, those lands wanted to become a state in Mexico as far as i know, may be someone's shooting people in the border but it's not the police, it's safe, it's becomes dangerous in some areas where gangs help indocumented people to get into Mexico, and there are dangerous gangs in that border, gauatelmaltecan cholos and that kind of stuff, here you can find some info about those gangs

but no the mexican goverment doesn't shoot immigrants even though that doesn't help some people who are trying to feel a little better wanting to think that their country isn't the only one who shoots immigrants |

Guatemala was part of the New Spain wich englobes Mexico and part of Central America, and in 1822 was part of the First Mexican Empire and a year later the empire collapsed where Guatemala and other territories except Chiapas decided to separate from México in peaceful way creating the Federal Republic of Central America.
But there wasn´t any war between Mexico and Guatemala.
