As of right now, all you need is a drivers license or a birth certificate to cross the border. As of Jan. 1, 2007, you will need a passport. |

No passport needed for travel in the United states to any state. But, yes we use passports to travel to any other country, just like everyone else. |

I just got back from Los Cabos, MX and Americans do not need a passport. You will only need a birth certificate (original) no copies and your state ID or Drivers License. Check out the link I gave you below, there is a toll-free # you can call to speak to someone in the Board of Tourism. |

I just heard a few days ago that U.S. citizens need a passport to get back in the states from Mexico and Canada. This includes Baja. But i don't know when that goes into effect. The best thing to do is just call a travel agent and ask them, you don't need to book with them, just ask. |

Right now, for a US citizen, to get into any North American country (canada and mexico for those that don't know the difference) You need a birth certificate and a picture ID - driver's licence. This will change January 2007. |
