You got a LOT of WRONG answers. Passports are NOT needed for LAND travel between the U.S. and Mexico. The date for that has NOT yet been set, but may be as soon as next summer. See site below and read top half of the page carefullu to read that you may use a passport OR birth certificate ti prove your American citizenship. So, your certificate and school I.D. are fine.

No, you do not need a passport to come back across the border. Only if you were flying, it is required. A law was just passed for that. But a picture ID should be fine if you are coming back by car.

Yes, you need your passport and a visa from US. You can get a student visa or a tourist visa depending on the reason you are traveling to US.

its now required for everyone to have a passport to leave the country when i was 11 a had to get one so i'm pretty sure you have to get one.
