it highly illegal, and very penalized, but the ignorance of some people that used to eat it before it bacame an endangered species don´t see it and try to catch one from time to time,
But this means jail time even bigger than catch you with a load of drugs.
Seals is not in the Mexican menu, Only Esquimos eat seals, we have some sea lions dou, no seals, and no body is eating those. |

OMFG yes they do eat sea turtles. My husband is Mexican and we got married here in Mexico and for our wedding his family was going to catch a turtle and serve it at our ceremony. I freaked out and told them if they were going to eat a freaking turtle I wasn't coming to my own wedding so they didn't bring it....but yeah, everyone loves that here.....nasty. Seals I don't know about but they eat everything else so probably.
(They also wanted to serve a cow's tounge....two words : NOT HAPPENING!!!!!) |

They eat sea turtles...but not everybody but they do eat them! I havent heard of anybody eating seals! And cow tongue,its the best! And head of a cow meat,another great dish! |

It is definitely not a widespread Mexican custom, and it is not legal. That said, some people do catch and eat turtles. This happens mostly in small coastal towns. |

I think your question is kind of offensive. I'm mexican and I don't eat sea turtles OR seals.
And so what if we do? You eat all kinds of artificial food at the fast food restaurants.
Anyways.. I HAVE eaten a cow's tongue and it's delicious..
maybe you should try it some time ;) |
