Yes I like old town Vallarta. Just came thru a week ago and the new Malecon is really fixed up nice.
Nuevo Vallarta is where all the large AI complexes are and very different (and distant) from DT. |

I really enjoy Puerto Vallarta. The location is attractive, with mountains looming over the town surrounding the lovely Bay of Banderas. While the beaches aren't the best in Mexico, Puerto Vallarta is one of the few Mexican resorts that feels like a Mexican town and not a gringo-filled extension of Florida.
The town has some lovely old buildings with fine shopping. The restaurants are terrific. In fact, the food scene in Puerto Vallarta is second only to Mexico City in terms of quality and diversity of offerings.
So if you like food, lying by the pool, enjoying sunshine in a scenic environment, and actually feeling as though you've left the US, Puerto Vallarta is the place to go. |

I loved Puerto Vallarta, very clean safe place to stay. Beautiful Churches, great Discos, great service at resorts and one heck of a time !! |

Update....
Puerto Vallarta has lots of positives.
I would say it is more suited to `tourists` than
people wanting to winter in Mexico like myself.
I prefer Mazatlan myself but I am a `geezer`in my fifties.
I would expect that people under 35 would have a lot of fun
in Puerto Vallarta.
The water looks pretty although the beaches are not
fine sand. The sunsets are beautiful and there is lots of
nightlife.
However, for some of the best beaches in the world, I recommend Mazatlan, Mexico. |
