Well, you got AlL wrong answers. Passports are NOT needed for LAND travel to and from Mexico until June 1, 2009. See site below. Right now adults need a photo I.D. and birth certificate. People under 18 just need their birth certificate. If your parents will not be with you, you must also have a letter of permission. See 2nd site and read section on MINORS under "Entry "Requirements."

no you dont until june 2009 you can visit the governments website and it says have a safe trip! oh and dont listen to these people they clearly dont know what they are talking about because you only need passports if you go by AIR not LAND =)

You need a passport to return to the United States, even if you are with a parent.

Basically what you need is some sort of identification that proves that you are a United States citizen. Passports are the most commonly used but birth certificates and a few other legalized documents can be used as well. Check out this link: http://www.visahq.com/us_passport_requirements.php

youll need the passport card if youre going by land and sea travel(this one allows you to travel to canada, mexico, te caribbean and bermuda) but if you plan on flying there you will need the passport book, which allows you to travel to any other country in the world....hope that helps

If You Go Anywhere That is not in the United States , then you HAVE to have a passport !!!
At Any Age You Need It !!
I Think that you can also have a few other identification things !
Like an I.D. or Birth Certificate !

Yes due to congressional legislation and post 9/11 fear all US citizens and visitors must have a passport upon entering or leaving the country.
