You usually need a passport to travel anywhere out of the country. but..
United States citizens and Canadian citizens can enter Mexico without a passport and just with a birth certificate accompanied by a picture ID. Citizens from other countries need passports and sometimes visas to enter Mexico. Please check with your travel agent or the Mexican Consulate in your area about the documents you need to travel to Mexico. |

always take a passport with you.
us EU citizens technically don't need a passport to travel through Europe, but you need to prove you're a European citizen... so the story goes... "chicken and egg"...
Get a passport mate, as I'm sure Mexico will want to know who you are....
even though hechicera_de_la_alma is probably right - it's upto your host country's discretion... shouting "BUT I'M AN AMERICAN!" doesn't wash anymore! |
