as far as i know US citizens can enter mexico with a birth certificate only. depends on the circumstances though, i believe, such as how long you'll be there. things may have changed as far as this goes though since 9.11. |

No you are not required to have a passport until Dec. 31, 2006. You will need photo id and a birth certificate though. |

Well when i went we didnt need a passport. But it depends if your driving or if your flying there so i live in texas near mexico im not sure if you are flying but if you are you will need a passport if your driving you dont need a passport just pay at the border when your crossing. I think its like $7 dollars but im not that sure. |

if your traveling by plane yes by car you need a permission cost about $26 but its for 6 months. |

yeah you do the only place u dont need a p.p. is in the 50 states of the U/S/A..other then that if u leave u need a pass port no matter waht////mexico canada and all the other 300 countires lol .... good luck
and if u need to get a passport u should go to your town post office and apply for a passport i think it takes like 2 weeks or something . |
