No you don't need vaccinations to go to Mexico. Just be carefull what/where you eat and drink bottled water

The answer is not a simple "yes" or "no." It makes a huge difference where you are going, what you are doing and how long you will be staying! If you are crossing the border for the day -- there is little concern. If you are staying for a short vacation at a well-known resort, probably not -- you can check with your local physician. If you are going hiking in the jungles for a few months -- or staying in a rural area without access to clean water and sanitation, the answer would be a definite "yes." Many larger cities have medical facilities that specialize in giving information, treatment, and innoculations to those who do extensive traveling outside their home country. These are often called "Travelers' Clinics." You can usually phone these facilities, or access them on the internet, for very specific recommendations based upon your personal travel plans. I am 23 years old. I have lived in Mexico all my life. I can tell you you do not need innoculations to visit the country. The north states of Mexico are industrialized, sem-clean, and free of all those fatal diseases you can think of. We do not live in filth. Visit Monterrey, Tampico, Chihuahua, Saltillo, etc. Besides, I am sure you will find everything (may be almost everything) you need back at home IF you get sick (I'm sure you can get tetanus, flu, or diarrhea, etc. anywhere).
If you plan to go to sylvan areas, then I advise you to follow more strict hygiene and get info from a professional.
Good luck, by the way, do not drink tap water, do not eat in any "taco" restaurant outdoors, they provide really good food at very low prices but your stomach would not be ready for change. (This is not due to mexico's situation, I was in Canada and I felt a little sick from eating poutine or poutin (can't really remember)).

there are some recommended highly along with bottles of clean water unless you want to be sick with some nasty stomach viruses

Yes you do. You need to be up to date with your UK vaccinations. Others are advised under certain conditions.
