Hurricaine Ernesto should only affect the eastern tip of Mexico, if at all, and it should be gone in like 1 or 2 days, if it's not gone already. If you were going to Cancun, than you may want to think twice, but anywhere else in the republic should be fine. |

Yes, you did. Even if it doesn't strike there, you couldn't have known and might have ended up in a miserable mess or even died, and for what??? Smart move!! |

So what exactly is the thing that you're asking if you did right? Did you cancel? UH?? Hello? Hi. Well if you didn't go, then probably. I mean who wants to die in a hurricane? |

It depends, did you have cancellation insurance? If so and rescheduling didn't cost you then may be it's a good move. Personally I would have went because no hurricane in history with a similar path has hit the Yucatan:

None of the computer models have it coming anywhere close to the Yucatan Peninsula.

That's not to say that this one couldn't change direction but as I said, if it were me I would have went. Since you posted in the Cozumel section I'm assuming your trip was booked for Cozumel about as far east as you can get in Mexico but I still think you'd have been ok. |

Go. Have fun. The chances a hurricane is actually going to hit is slim to none. If you get to the airport and the flight is cancelled. Then....I wouldn't go. |

Well, if you were planning to go to the Riviera Maya or Cancun area then you did wrong, the Hurricane didn't touch us here by far. But if you were going to Baja California, Cabo San Lucas area then you did good because there is going to be a hurricane passing through there in a couple days. |

It was your decision and whatever happens whether it is good or bad that happens it is your choice to be thinking of your own safety. |

I'd go... it looks like it's going to curve along the coast. Mexico should be okay. |

Oh go on. You can loot lots of great souvenirs in the aftermath. Just look at all the great stuff folks got in New Orleans after Katrina! |

A storm or a hurricane? Storm happen in Mexico very very very often, and planes go through storms all the time. |
