I've never seen so many white people in Mexico as I see on those "telenovelas".... the producers of these show clearly believe "if it ain't white it ain't right". Give me a break!
So to answer your question: No, Televisa doesn't properly represent "us", that "us" being the average Mexican national.
They should implement a "moreno only" policy on casting of actors. |

Not only televisa but all TV channels. They show a reality that doesn't exit. Nor people or love are like we see in soap operas. The poor little woman will never get the rich-handsome's attention, the bad girl/guy will never get what they deserve. Life and people are much more complicated than being nice and pretty and I could also say that some of us have had a lot more interesting "chapters" in our lives, more romantic, more dramatic... so no, the answer is not. Telenovelas are just a fairy tale as Cinderella... |
