I'm a American and I live in Mexico. First of all apply for a 180 day visa when you get to Mexico. That will give you time to apply for a FM-3. A FM-3 is the Mexican green card for non-mexican people. Get a notorized letter from your bank that you have at least $1200 in your bank account, 3 copys of your passport, 5 passport photos and pay the mexican government $275 every year to live here. It's really not hard to live here and it's cheap. |

Go on vacation or go to retire ... but you better have money because there is no work except teaching English.
A retirement visa requires an income of $1200us a month and over 50+ years. Other wise you are on a tourist visa for 6 months, or a work visa for the length of hire. |

Just hope the border, I highly doubt the Mexican Border Patrol will give you a hard time. Getting back into the US might be a trick though, but since I see hundreds of illegals (my bad, they are now called "Undocumented Citizens") everywhere I go it cant be that hard to get into the US. |

OK. First u have dollars good point, second, when u reacht mexico all u wanth is ur, find a nice place, I recomend Cabo San Lucas, every one speak amenglisht, but B carefuull don,t trhust too much, watch every day the change for thr money, u have dollars and is so easy make mistakes, u have dollars no pasos, dnt thrust when the people smille 2 much, search for 4 diferent ways 2 hav3 options, when u find a correct placefind friends from America, and do whant u whanr mexico is in ur hands enjoy.( My place is Porto Vallarta a little expensive but is great) |
