Bringing cigs into Mexico is not an issue. We bring down a carton and a half apiece and have never had an issue. Bringing cigs back into the US there is duty limits.

You are allowed to bring into Mexico:

400 cigarettes....OR
50 cigars....OR
250g of tobacco.

Alicia in Cancun
You are allowed to bring one carton per person.

If your brand is found here- today's carton price is $214.00 pesos for Marlboro red per carton.

wildangel721
Yes you are allowed at least one carton per person.
We usually bring one carton and a few packs through the luggage.

Yes, they sell in mexico cheaper, however they are Mexican cigarettes even if they say "Marlboro" etc.
They taste different and they are rolled looser.

Personal preference is to bring our own. The others are okay if you run out and when you leave at the duty free there is a greater selection.

Miss Robin Williams
When they are 22.00 USD for a carton in Mexico, buy them there.

Don't worry about it. Most likely they won't even check when you get off the plane. If it's a problem they may take a few packs. They will be looking for serious problems. Mexico is not northern Korea

BTW ... what's the brand

Josie
Why would you want to bring cigarettes into Mexico? I always thought people bought them bulk there to take them home because they're cheaper.

will maybe it's a law...
but for an international air flight, I think your not aloud to because some security problems. But I'm a hundred percent sure you can buy tobacco in an air plane or an airport..
