My fiance and I are curious since we are attending a friends wedding that is in Mexico. The wedding will end around midnight and we're staying in San Diego.
Hi, I live near San Diego and the border at the San Ysidro crossing and it never closes. In fact, my wife and I just recently went to a wedding in Tijuana. we left the wedding at about 3 AM and had the best border crossing ever. Why? The later the better: less traffic means less hassle and time spent waiting in the car line at the border, if you drive. another way to do it is park your car at one of the several for fee parking lots within walking distance of the border. You and your fiance walk across, take a taxi to the wedding and back again to the border, entering through the pedestrian immigration area. If the wedding is not too far from the border, if you have friends who might pick you up/take you back to the border, if you speak Spanish and are self assured, you could have a good time doing that. You might also want to consider taking the trolly from San Diego to the border and back again. Buena Suerte!
